A promotional image posted by Tarun Vats seems to indicate that Samsung will emphasize simple functionalities such as sketching and note-taking, suggesting that The S Pen of the Galaxy S25 Ultra will not have Bluetooth. The S Pen can still call up Air Command, a menu with shortcuts to functions that work with the stylus.
Since the Air Command menu appears when you move the S Pen across the screen, you might think Bluetooth is necessary, but that’s not the case. Instead, it relies on electromagnetic resonance (EMR) technology to make the screen recognize it, even if it’s just hovering over it.
Samsung may have removed Bluetooth support because not many people need it. Moreover, it may introduce some improvements to make you forget about the loss of Bluetooth, such as a 1.5mm tip for ease of use, improved durability, and a better sketching experience.
Apart from that, the leaked images also give us another look at the Galaxy S25Ultra‘S slightly rounded corners and flat sides, which give it a new character.
